Creating the goals is step one, but how can you stay consistent through all of 2025?

A new year is a chance for a fresh start. Chances are you may have set some goals or resolutions for yourself at the beginning of 2025. But how often are you able to stick with those goals as January comes to a close and you are faced with the other 11 months of the year? Here are some ways you can keep yourself on track with the resolutions you set for yourself this year.
Celebrate the small wins. Any steps you take towards your goal are good ones! Showing up to the gym is half the battle, even if you only make it 10 minutes. Skipping your morning coffee at Starbucks and making it at home is a $5 win! Keep a record of your small wins in a daily journal or on a visible place at home so you can track your progress. Everything is more fun with friends, so find an accountability buddy. Ask a family member to cheer you on or even participate with you in your resolutions. It’s important to choose someone who can encourage you with love, but also know when to crack down and remind you of your goals. You’ll find you might be more successful if you have another person to lean on when the going gets tough.
Find your “why.” Even though we are a month into the New Year, sometimes it is easy to forget why you even set a goal in the first place. Take a moment to reflect on or journal about why you made your specific goals in the first place. Ask yourself how it is going and if you feel anything in your resolutions need to change. You want to create goals and habits that are achievable and realistic (skipping Starbucks every Monday) vs. a task that could have negative impacts that make it easier to give up (cutting caffeine cold turkey). Recentering yourself on why you created a goal will help you focus and remind you what you’re working for!
